HHM 2010 recap!

^Thee Almighty Rusko!

I am at a loss for words for the epicness experienced at Hard Haunted Mansion 2010 this past Saturday! (I only was able to go 1 day *sad face).
The night began at the main stage, cutting rug to Busy P. After a face melting set, He announced that Mr. Oizo was unable to make it to the evenings event due to "shitty administration". WTF, HARD?!
BUT, before anyone could get angry, Busy P then called out a special, surprise guest....
At first, I was like "who the hell is pitplot?!" Then I heard some girl go "ZOMG DIPLO!"
Pretty much, you guys get the idea of how great my Saturday night was. Here are some dope live vids of the action taken by yours truly.

I think this vid was the beginning of his set...He dropped beat bombs all night long!

So as you can tell, Rusko and Fake Blood were the two high lights of my night, but that doesn't mean everyone else (crookers! diplo! sebastian! etc...) weren't awesome! Truly a filthy night of filthy electro! If anyone knows the song names to any of the videos posted, please let me know!

OH i forgot to mention. On the way to Hard, My friends and I got stuck in an elevator for 35 minutes! 12 people, small elevator, me slightly claustrophobic, plus heat = almost lost my mind.
In the end it made my night 69x more special :)

I Love Batucada (Dero Animal Drums Mix):

Jungle Cadence! Got a great tribal back beat and drops pretty damn hard! Watch out

Hey Sexy Lady (Laidback Luke Remix):

I might get flamed for posting this one, but I got 2 words for you "EFF-YOU!" It sounds like Mr. Luke messed around with Pjanoo (Eric Prydz) and used it as his hook. Nonetheless the big room bass has me hooked. This one is for those who like a more main stream, pop sound....and for the sexy ladies! meeeeyooww *wink wink* (Jk)

Last but definitely NOT least....

Markus Schulz

While trance music is not nearly as popular now days (or so it seems), as electro or house, Markus Schulz continues to draw hundreds and thousands of people to his shows every year. Sitting comfortable at #8 in the Top 100 DJ rankings, Schulz continues to produce the hottest tracks, reminding us why we love trance in the first place.
Here are a few tracks off his new album "Do You Dream":

Do You Dream:

Perfect (Agnelli & Nelson Remix):

Although this song is old, it is by FAR my favorite Schulz track! For you lazy bstrdz, the main build up starts around 4:30....but as usual, I highly recommend listening to the track from start to finish!

Work Out Slaps

^OH DAYUMMM!!! me likey!

So the other day, my friend Melvin was like "Yo, I dig your blog, I listen to a lot of the music when I work out" and bam, it hit me like a lightening bolt! So today, I compiled some tracks that'll get you out of your chair and into the gym. A healthy life is a healthy body! Don't keep thinking that people will accept you for who you are because no one wants a fat friend! Just kidding about that last part :) (sort of...)

Crime Wave (LA Riots Remix):

Get that heart rate up with some cardio! Just follow that back beat and keep those feet moving!

Hard Music v.1 (Brain Crash):

Raver (Bullwack Remix):

Grab some weights and swing em around like glow sticks to this wild b33t!

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Dirty Disco Youth):

Lift those weights harder, get better, run faster, and in the end, you'll get stronger! (I fail at trying to be clever -_-)
This is one dirty work out b33t! Harvest harvest harvest!

*Stupid YouTube disabled the "Embed" code.

"There's nothing wrong with being strong!"
You can quote me for that one!

Phace Melting PHILTH

Double post today.
First, here is 2 tunes that I didn't like at first but have slowly grown on me.
Collect Call (Imij Remix):

"Trippy", relaxing tune. Doesn't have a huge face melting drop but it does build up nicely. Check it OUT.

Nothin' On You (TC's Switch Off Remix)

*For some reason the player is being stupid with this song....

THIS song really threw me off. First of all, I'm not big on rap and electronic music remixed together. BUT, if it's done well, it can sound really good. This song does just that.
It starts off real slow then has this dope drum and bass beat. Give it a few listens before making any judgements.

This is a little mix I've been working on.
First one I have ever done so I'm really primitive with my equip (Ableton/APC40). Give me some slack.
I will be honest, first 5 mins are reallly rough but the rest is smooth.
Please leave some constructive criticism, I want to get good at this ish.
Track List:
1.Dissolve (Bloody Beetroots Remix)-Chemical Brothers
2. We are from Venice - The Bloody Beetroots
3. Wattup (Disco Villains Remix) ft. Young Buck -Kissed with a Noise
4. Let's Go (Bart B More 'Lessgo' Remix) -Dem Slackers
5.Pet Massage (Elektropusher Remix) -Blatta & Inesha
6. Riverside (Afrojack Remix) -Sidney Samson
7. Cantina ft. Bastian Van Shield (Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP Remix) -Spencer & Hill
8. Get Crazy (Will Baily Remix) -Costello
9. We Speak No Americano (Chuckie & METI Remix) -Yolanda Be Cool Vs. DCUP
10. Hello (Radio Edit) -Porter Robinson & Lazy Rich
11. Take Over Control (Spencer & Hill Remix) -Afrojack

Fine Wine-2

It's that time of week again, where we bring you a song that takes more then one listen to completely appreciate/love.
I first heard the original of this track mid-summer and I thought nothing of it. After about 3 listens, it really grew on me. THEN, this remix popped up, and I couldn't stop listening to this fresh b33t. The build up is nice and slow, each track stacking on top of each other, increasing the listener's anticipation. It's constantly changing so forget about boredom. Ride the beat until the most ridiculous, body shaking, brain breaking drop! You can't help but start pumping your fist or banging your head. Heavy Swedish Hitters, Axwell (from SHM) and Henrik B don't hesitate to melt your face.
*For you lazy Bstrdz, the drop comes around 4 minutes but take the time to listen to the song in its entirety. (x10 better)

Teenage Crime (Axwell & Henrick B Remode):

Broaden your musical horizon!

Random Mix

^The future.

This post doesn't really have too much of a "theme". I recently just came up on tons of new music so here are a couple songs that I dig.
BTW, how sick is that double toilet?

Sucker Ft. Steep Bass Project
Just some classic electro! Super heavy

Push/Rise (LightsoverLA Re-edit)

THIS song is a must harvest! Sounds like something Daft Punk would make! Robots, shredding guitar solos and moar! I can't get over how awesome this song is.

House Music

A Benny Benassi song I personally have never heard...NBD. I'm not sure but some sources say he collabed with Afrojack on this tune. Sounds about right; Its very horn-y. lololol By that I mean there is a lot of that Afro-horn sound.

Disco, Disco!

I don't know how I'd classify these next two tracks...electro disco house? But what I CAN say is that they are phunky phresh!! Ladies and gentlemen....
G-g-g-g-GET DOWN!
*Quick note: It so happens that both the tracks have the word "Burnin" in them. Complete coincidence...

Burning Hot (Boemklatsch Remix)

(Taking it back to the old school! Yo parents will love this banger!)

Hit us up on ThaBook! <--Click me

It's a beautiful Saturday so here is a bonus track! It doesn't really have that specific disco sound but it has the word disco in it so it counts!

Amish Slaps

Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP busted onto the scene with their "amish slap" We Speak No Americano, made popular on the recent Ministry of Sound 7.  Why do I call them "amish slaps"? Amish people are simple people and amish music is also simple. The duo are especially famous for their simple harmonies and simple back beats.
Here are a few amish slaps that rival their first hit.

Cantina (Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP remix)
(This song picks up around 1:20, so be patient. This song would be perfect for an old black and white movie)

Sing Sing Sing (Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP remix):

Fine Wine-1

I decided to start a weekly post that will be called "Fine Wine". I am far from being some sort of EDM connoisseur but in my defense, I love this music and have been listening to it long enough as to be able to give a strong opinion about the different genres.
What Fine Wine will consist of is a song, I feel, that takes more then a few listens to fully enjoy. These songs won't be the most catchy or filthy or popular right off the bat but as (you) the listener take the time to sip it through the ears and swirl around the brain, you'll find the true beauty in each delectable track.
Broaden your electronic music horizon! Cheers to yo' camera!

Zocalo ft. Gabriel & Dresden

Although I have been posting a lot of electro and house, I am a big trance fan as well. Produced by the #1 DJ in the world, Armin van Buuren, this track takes you on a magical unicorn adventure past the 13 moons of Pluto and beyond. Enjoy.

For every 'Like' we get, a stray animal finds a home!

I have had it with school. It's 12:23 AM pacific day light time and I have Calculus at 8am. I have tried effortlessly to fix my sleeping habits but for some unexplainable reason, I am always wide awake, far into the wee hours of the early morning, tossing and turning, dreading the next day. I shall be a zombie tomorrow (today, for you late readers) but this track should keep my blood pumping and my heart beating to a certain extent...

i heart HAU5!

Why would I fit well with the Jersey Shore cast? No, its not my enormous muscles and no, its not my sexy (al naturale) tan. It's because they love  (and I love) HOUSE MUSIC! YEAH BOI!
The best thing about that show is watching them go to clubs, partying their brains out to the filthiest house music alive! It's awesome!
After a long day of GTL, when night hits, it's time to get crazy and get wild!
All the songs below KILL it, so make sure to harvest em all!

The Gods of Electro! (double post all the way!)

The group in the image above is the infamous Soulwax! I recently watched their music documentary "Part of the Weekend Never Dies" and let me tell you, just watching them play through a computer screen gave me chills. These guys are responsible for starting the heavy, face melting electronic movement! I would classify them as The Beatles of Electro. Yeah, they are that sick! Check these tunes out!

(This song is like getting donkey kicked straight in the chest, forcing you to fall out of a plane 10,000 feet in the parachute)

Miserable Girl:
(The build on this one is intense)

I was pretty neutral about "techno" throughout high school until I heard Justice!!!

I watched THEIR documentary "A Cross the Universe". was AWE$OME! Justice talks about how their biggest influence was Soulwax and if you listen to their music, its very apparent.
Two tracks for you to make your ears jizz:

This first song is the first Justice song I ever heard (Best part is at 1:04):
Waters of Nazareth:

Phantom II (Boys Noize Remix Komodo Re-Edit):

(I feel everyone has heard the original mix (which is awesome) but this remix slaps 10x harder.)

remember, if you like what you hear, spread the word! GLHF.
-Jkilla  $$$$$$$$$$$

oh what? what is this? b-b-b-b-BONUS TRACK!

The best "Kids" remix ever! The original will never be the same!
Kids (Soulwax Nite Version):

Kid + Cudi = Kudi

^(Kudi's best "album")

As you might know, Kid Cudi has strong electronic music influences in his music. He has done work with big name, Crookers, to produce 2 of his hottest tracks "Day N' Nite" and "Embrace the Martian". He also has been remixed by multiple artists. Here are two songs that'll knock your socks off!!

She Came Along (Jean Elan Remix):
(A must harvest! YAH!)

Symphonies (Dada Life Remix):
(This song is by Dan Black ft. Kid Cudi but it still slaps so it's going on here...mawfucka!)
